Alex's Nursery Reveal!

MEET ARIZONA NATIVE ALEX EVJEN: 

What you need to know about Alex is that she's a down to earth Greek gal that loves talking about REAL life. She lives in Phoenix, Arizona, is a mother of two, a wife to Ryan, a stylist and an official Pinterest Ambassador. She's been blogging about fashion and sharing snippets of her life since 2009 at AVE Styles. She also styles photo shoots for photographers and works with companies like Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus to style beautiful imagery for Pinterest. 

THE PROCESS:

We always start with a design board. Alex already had a crib and dresser so we knew we would be working around those pieces giving the place a mid-century look. We slowly started adding more and more pieces until we felt like we came to a good place. As usual design boards are never set in stone and changes had to be made. We originally wanted a large cactus in the corner, but we couldn't find one that big without needles so we had to go with the smaller one shown in the reveal pictures, which was needle-free.

BEFORE PICTURES:

Alex, had just moved into this home, so don't judge her for the green color. She quickly painted it a white (Sherman Williams Westhighland White) when she moved in. We later added the deep navy wall as the nursery design progressed. 

You can also see the window was arched and didn't have great blinds. Below shows how we hung a roman shade above the arched window to hide the arch, then added curtains to warm it up. We love how it turned out! To see more pictures and details head to Alex's blog.
