Oilo is pronounced as oil (as in 'olive oil' ) and oh (as in 'oh my' ) = Oil-oh

WHAT DOES OILO MEAN?

(Oil-oh) n. : Though not an actual word, Oilo’s roots are steeped in the Hawaiian words, “lio” (small sprout) and “ho’oilo” (the cool, rainy season). Every autumn, the Hawaiian sun weakens and tropical trade winds usher in magnificent storms that blanket the islands in a cool, cleansing rain. It’s not beach weather. It’s curl up on the sofa with a good book weather. It’s wrap your baby up tight and rock her to sleep in the moonlight weather. Mostly, it’s about sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying the serenity of life.

DO YOU SELL FABRIC BY THE YARD?

If available, we will sell fabric by the yard. Because of constant fluctuations in yardage, we do not sell fabric on our website, but you are welcome to email us at service@oilostudio.com to see if we have any available.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FLYNN AND NOLA?

While both chairs feature our signature swivel and gliding motion, the Flynn is a recliner, and the Nola does not recline.

The chairs look similar featuring plush cushions with an elegant flange, but the Nola glider has removable cushions made from a luxurious down alternative, while the Flynn cushions are attached, and filled with a non-absorbent, mildew-resistant lofty polyester fiber.

The Flynn is also slightly larger at approx 30”w x 36”d x 39”h, while the Nola is approx 30”w x 34”d x 37”h.

WHAT CHAIR IS BEST SUITED FOR OWNERS OVER 6’ TALL?

Our popular Drew Recliner has an extra high back chair, sitting at 40” tall, it gives tall people complete head support that’s a head above the average recliner. 

Our plush Orly Recliner has a high back at 42” tall, and perfect arm height, which means you can completely relax while feeling supported.
