With Mothers Day right around the corner, we thought there might be at least a few of you out there looking for some fun DIY ideas to do with your kiddos!
I always love to help my kids make their grandmas’ handmade Mother’s Day gifts.
And after you turn your back, they just may end up doing one of these projects for YOU! So here are a few good ideas!
1. Soaps in Pretty Packaging
Beautiful packaging makes my heart flutter, and yummy smelling soaps are the perfect candidate for a re-wrap.
Ideas & instructions for repackaging soaps can be found here.
How to involve the kids?
Have a small selection of coordinating papers & fabric scraps/ribbons that the kids can choose from. If they are too young to make neat paper folds, they can be in charge of placing the tape.
2. Bouquet of Fabric Flowers
Flowers that last for longer than a few days are hard to come by. These fabric flowers make a pretty little gift that will be enjoyed for many, many days!
Instructions for making fabric flowers can be found here.
How to involve the kids?
Have a small selection of coordinating fabrics the kids can choose from. Let the kids cut the strips of fabric. They don’t need to be perfectly straight.
3. Paint Dipped Wooden Spoons
Cooking & baking are even more fun with colorful wooden spoons. I’m sure of it!
Instructions for paint dipped wooden spoons can be found here.
How to involve the kids?
Have a small selection of coordinating paints out. Let your child choose which color of paint to use and (after you’ve taped off the spoon), let them paint the handle.
Happy Mother’s Day!
