Trend To Try: Cozy Plaids

With the arrival of November, the cozy months are officially here. So instead of wishing these colder temps away, let’s embrace them with this endearing modern lumberjack trend that is beginning to make a strong appearance!

You can always depend on trends showing themselves in fashion, in home design and in entertaining. So here are a few ideas for using this cozy plaid trend in all these areas.

In the home . . . Instead of storing your blankets in a trunk or basket until you are cozied up watching a movie, make your plaid blanket storage part of your décor.

Store them by spreading one over your duvet cover, folded on a bench, or hanging from hooks. (And why not stick a little pine bough in your wellies while you’re at it?!)

Using the modern lumberjack look as inspiration, host a backyard lumberjack party for your children or friends or for a baby shower. Your plaid blanket will work perfectly as a tablecloth.

You can take your little plaid blanket (and your favorite lumberjack) on a romantic little picnic with a thermos of hot cocoa. Or how about making a plaid patterned mini-bunting as a whimsical touch on a freshly baked (or fresh-from-the-bakery) cake?

Especially during this time of year, I love using plaid accessories. I was instantly smitten when I saw these plaid blanket market bags . . . The stuff my winter dreams are made of.

And a blanket scarf is as warm as it is stylish. There are 101 tutorials on a 101 ways to wear a scarf, but my favorite look for the blanket scarf is just casually draped around your shoulders and arms.
